At Nostalgia, we strive to comply with all laws applicable to our products. The states listed below require manufacturers of listed cookware to make certain disclosures about their products if certain specified chemicals are intentionally added to the product’s handles or food contact surfaces. However, we have no reason to believe that any of our products present a health risk, and the cookware products identified herein must comply with relevant limits and rules established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, including Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, governing the safe use of product parts in direct contact with food.
California residents: California’s AB 1200 requires manufacturers of cookware sold in the state to disclose on their website and product labels any intentionally added chemicals appearing on California’s designated Candidate Chemical list that may be present in the product’s handles or food contact surfaces. The cookware disclosure requirements of California AB 1200 are found in the California Health & Safety Code beginning in Section 109010. Colorado residents: The cookware disclosure requirements of Colorado House Bill 22-1345 are found in the Colorado Revised Statutes beginning at Section 25-15-601. Colorado law stipulates that manufacturers of cookware sold in the state that contain PFAS chemicals in the handle or food contact surfaces of the product must disclose the presence of such PFAS chemicals on the product label and provide information on its website about why PFAs have been intentionally added to such products. Non-stick cookware often uses PFAS chemicals (including PTFE) to prevent food from sticking to the surface. PFAS/PTFE is used due to its high performance as a non-stick surface coating and FDA approval for food contact applications. The US Food and Drug Administration regulates the use of PFAS substances in cookware to ensure they are safe for their intended use.
